Our Team

Tracey Burton
Executive Director

Tracey Burton brings a strong spirit of determination and possibility to her role as Executive Director of Living Better with Parkinson’s, always asking, “How can we help people live better, with less pain, today and into tomorrow?” She believes that true resilience comes from identifying needs, finding practical solutions, and empowering individuals to take responsibility for their own wellbeing.

Tracey draws on a diverse nursing background, having worked in geriatric assessment, orthopaedic surgery, ophthalmology, gynecology, open heart surgery (CV-ICU), neuro ICU, and vascular surgery/teaching. She pairs this clinical knowledge with her expertise as a fascial stretch and release therapist, movement repatterning specialist, and as a track and cheerleading coach and trainer. Her professional experience is further shaped by her own health journey—recovering from more than 21 surgeries and navigating life as a COVID long-hauler. These experiences give Tracey a unique perspective on perseverance, healing, and the importance of care that addresses both body and spirit.

Beyond healthcare, Tracey has been nationally recognized for her philanthropic leadership. She has supported ASC and CNIB through hosting events, raising funds to send children to camp, and creating education initiatives to help people manage pain. She also founded the Canadians Care Collective Fund, which received national recognition for delivering urgent medical supplies to Ukraine and supporting first responders locally.

At LBWP, Tracey is committed to building upon Catherine Smart’s founding vision while placing a strong focus on raising the funds needed to expand programs, ensuring education, movement classes, and social connection remain available to those living with Parkinson’s. With Parkinson’s Disease now recognized as the fastest growing neurodegenerative disease in the world, Tracey is determined to ensure that the South Georgian Bay community is prepared, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Together, we are B.E.T.T.E.R – Build knowledge. Enable access. Take part. Team up. Empower health. Research for tomorrow.
